Privacy policy

This policy applies to Tek Insight Hub (“we”, “us”), the website at tekinsighthub.com. By using the site you accept it. If you have questions, write to tekinsighthub@gmail.com.

Information we collect

We collect only what the site needs to work:

• Contact form: your name, email address and message.
• Newsletter: your email address.
• Report downloads: your name, company and work email, so we can give you the file and know who requests our research.
• Contributors and staff: name, email address and a password (stored only in scrambled form) for people who write or edit for us.
• Automatically: technical details such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages requested, which our hosting provider records in server logs. Your IP address is also used briefly to limit repeated requests and prevent abuse.
• Reading counts: when you open an article, the site adds one to that article’s read counter. The counter does not identify you.

We do not ask for payment details, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information. Please do not put it in the contact form.

How we use it

• To answer your messages, send you what you asked for (newsletters, reports) and handle article submissions.
• To run, secure and improve the site, and to prevent spam and misuse.
• To show advertising, if you agree to it (see below).
• To meet legal obligations.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to show ads on this site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.

Advertising scripts and cookies load only if you choose Accept all in our cookie banner. If you choose Essential only, no advertising cookies are set by this site. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer.

You can also manage advertising directly:

• Opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings.
• Opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, ads are shown only in line with Google’s consent requirements. We do not sell your personal information for money. California residents may opt out of advertising cookies by choosing Essential only.

We use a small number of them, listed in our Cookie policy.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, under their own privacy terms:

• Vercel, which hosts the website and records server logs.
• Supabase, which hosts our database (messages, subscribers, contributors’ accounts and articles).
• Google, for advertising, only if you accept it.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it or to protect the site and its users.

Where your information is stored

Our hosting and database servers are in the United States. By using the site you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed there.

How long we keep it

We keep messages, newsletter addresses and report requests only as long as we need them for the purpose you gave them, or until you ask us to delete them. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period.

Security

The site uses HTTPS, passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, staff access is limited by role, and our database is locked to our own servers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you may have the right to ask us for a copy of your information, to correct or delete it, to withdraw consent, or to object to how we use it. To use any of these rights, or to leave the newsletter, email tekinsighthub@gmail.com from the address concerned. We will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Articles and ads may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and material changes will be announced on the site.
